Meet Tea Tree Oil

Before getting down to the nitty-gritty of Tea tree oil..Let me introduce this liquid to you…Its about moments when distressed and disappointed from everything else with little or no results…when it comes to personal care…we find refuge in ancient recipes..about which we had though heard a million times but ignored..considering them trivial..insignificant and fanatic..but when we do resort to those and start getting astonishing results…is the time we start to believe…..believe in the might..and bounty of nature…

Say hello to one such nature’s bounty…Tea tree oil..

Every great discovery has this little descriptive history behind it…no surprises…tea tree oil too has one..

The ones hailing from Bundjalung…eastern Australia utilized the tea tree by inhaling them…for them it was their traditional medicine…obtained from the crushed leaves treating coughs and colds….They also applied it’s leaves on wounds…after which a poultice is applied….In addition…The infusion of the leaves with certain liquids made the it even more powerful and it’s effects vigorous… as far as applying on the wounds was concerned..

Use of the oil of Tea tree wasn’t common at all until this researcher named Arthur Penfold published the first reports of its antimicrobial activity in a number of newspapers in the 1920s and 1930s….In going through the antimicrobial activity of M. Alternifolia tea tree oil was rated as 10 times more active than phenol…

And as far as the commercial tea tree oil industry is concerned…it happened after the medicinal properties of the oil were first reported by Penfold in the 1920s…It was produced from natural bush stands of M. alternifolia that produced oil with the appropriate chemo type…the plant material was cut by hand and often distilled on the spot in makeshift…mobile…wood-fired bush stills…

Hmm…Tea tree oil or melaleuca oil…is a pale yellow colour to nearly colorless and clear essential oil with a fresh camphor like odor…It is extracted from the leaves of the Melaleuca alternifolia….which belongs to the northeast coast of New South Wales… Australia…Tea tree oil is often confused with tea oil….the sweet cooking oil from obtained from seeds of the tea plant…

You know how it got its name?

Actually…back then…the leaves of tea tree were used as a substitute for tea….and so it came to be known as teea tree oil…

Just a few of the many conditions it treats…

  • Vaginitis
  • Thrush
  • Periodontal disease
  • As an antiseptic
  • Acne
  • Athlete’s foot
  • Dandruff
  • Eczema
  • Psoriasis
  • Yeast infection
  • Boils
  • Lice

Itch Itch! Scratch Scratch! Bye Bye! – Tea Tree Oil

As a small kid I remember…I used to have hip-long air…my father was pretty fond of it so made let me have them…but soon I was agitated with managing of them and developed an itchy scalp…I wondered what was wrong with me…I used to scratch my scalp day and night…then one day my mother caught hold of me…and used this really narrow comb I had never seen before…to comb my hair…and to my absolute shock…i saw these tiny little insects trapped in the teeth of the comb…coming out of my hair…my mother called them ‘lice’…And she explained to me that how those parasites lived on by sucking my scalp’s blood…I started to detest the mites so badly that I asked mom to treat from thoroughly…and that’s when she used Tea tree oil in my hair for the first time…and no exaggerating…I was SO relieved…felt so light in the head…

So now you know what an old recipe it is to cure lice…had it not been my mom…I would’ve never known the cure to the pesky little creatures…

You might not be knowing this but once a child gets head lice…the mature or adult head lice can lay up to 10 eggs or nits each day…These nits…or lice eggs…hatch in about 7 to 12 days…Baby lice or term them nymphs…are about the size of a pinhead when they hatch…and quickly mature into adult lice in about a 9 to 12 days by sucking our blood (vampires!)

In just a few days… adult lice are ready to mate (imagine even creatures this small mate!)…starting their life cycle all over again during their 3 to 4 week lifespan…

And the rescuer is Tea tree oil…you know a kind of oil…that would keep the lice at bay if you do not have them and will ruin their being if you do have them

Even if you go out in the market today…you’ll find that most of the anti-lice products bear the name ‘Tea tree’ on them…and well then it shouldn’t surprise you

Wondering what makes this oil so distinct and useful?

Well…Tea tree oil is an extremely powerful antiseptic that is very effective in fighting lice and actually many other problems…

It’s distinguishing properties being that it is-

  • Bactericide
  •  Fungicide
  • Antiseptic
  •  Disinfectant
  • Antiviral

Not only this…If we go I detail then…It can be used to fight…

  1. Mites
  2. an infection
  3. against parasites

It even promotes the facilitation of…

  1. Healing
  2. Perspiration (makes us sweat)
  3. Supports the immune system.

Try diluting this amazing liquid with other liquids…and see the wonders it does for your hair and hair problems…but my personal recommendation for it…because I have been through it and Tea tree sincerely helped…It still continues to…Just maybe…you weren’t aware of the fact…
