Tea Tree- Lets Fights Acne! One-On-One!

The title of this article is what Tea tree has to say to acne….over hundreds of years now people have found themselves trapped in the ugly and intimidating world of acne….the ones resourceful…fought back…but the ones deprived…had to face the repercussions…and even today the battle continues…low self-esteem (especially amongst youngsters)…incapacitating condition…sleepless nights…strained relationships…have all been ‘some’ of the many of its grave effects..

Finally rose something from the untouched vegetation…nature’s pride…Tea tree oil (erm..I know that was a little mellow-dramatic)…anyway…now for your answer…why Tea tree oil for acne?

But before that…understand this Tea tree oil…

This oil is an essential oil obtained by pressing the leaves of the Tea tree…It in a way…some say…smells like camphor and is kind of transparent (Okay translucent! )  Natives of  Australia…the tree’s native location too…had long back brought the oil in their use…You know like even much before it developed a commercial market for itself…It vigorously fights-

  1. Virus
  2. Infections
  3. Bacteria

Now…for the question…How Tea Tree Oil fight acne?

What makes it take the highest position as far as best fighters of acne are concerned…is its antimicrobial property….and eventually the ability to kill the bacteria on skin that contribute to acne

This acne occurs when a pore becomes clogged with dead skin cells or oil produced by the skin…which in layman’s language we term as dirt…impurities..So…Once this occurs…bacteria get trapped inside the clogged pore… this in turn causes swelling and sores…especially when white blood cells attack the bacteria trapped in the pore… By fighting these…Tea tree eliminates the chances of the reoccurrence of the bacteria

Tea tree oil tones the skin even…It dries up the oil that’s there on the surface of the skin…hence ending the chance of the development and blocking the nourishment of the bacteria…

Tea tree oil has these great advantages over all other things…

1) Tea tree oil does not dry out your skin.
2) Tea tree oil gets the red out.
3) Tea tree oil fights the bacteria that cause pimples with ugly yellow centers…you will look better faster with tea tree oil

Okay so you know enough as to why to use Tea tree in place of anything else to cure acne…So..now have a look at our references..

I Am A Wonder Worth Worshipping – Tea Tree Oil

Like I have written in certain other blogs of mine…Every great discovery has a certain uncanny history to it…and so does this wondrous oil…Without any further ado…let me take you the yesteryears…the years of recognition of this amazing Tea tree oil…

Even much much before Captain Cook set foot on the shores of Australia…the natives used the this oil of the Melaleuca trees for a wide range of topical and oral applications….They crushed the leaves to obtain their oil to use as rubbing mediums and mixed them with clay to form poultices and even bathed in the water containing Tea tree oil….White settlers observed and imbibed the way of using the leaves for their own healing applications…It was most unfortunate for people in the west that there was no documented evidence…and the use of Melaleuca oil was to remain confined to Australia…as a bush remedy…for the next 150 years..( phew! Now that’s a long time).

Hmm…then way back in 1922…an Australian chemist…Arthur Penfold…distilled the oil from the Melaleuca alternifolia and following…published a paper stating that it had wide-ranging antibacterial and antifungal properties..And it was disclosed for the record that this was a new type of germicide…gentle to skin cells but harmful to the germs…This oil then got renowned for its ability to treat all kinds of infections and infestations…It was the treatment of choice… from

  1. Ringworm
  2.  Leg ulcers
  3. Cuts and wounds
  4.  Head lice
  5.  Infections
  6. Pyorrhoea
  7. Gingivitis
  8. Catarrh
  9.  Thrush
  10.  Tonsillitis

Be it….Professors…doctors…dentists and veterinary surgeons…they all….utilized its many properties for the health and welfare of their patients…

Then it was the dawn of the World War II and…this oil was in such short supply that all the available stocks were used to help stop infections from the unavoidable war wounds…both in soldiers and munitions workers that were helping with the war effort….Soon it was brought down to be cheaper…and more readily available….alternative should be manufactured to help stop the spread of germs….and the once thriving industry went into a steep decline….For the next twenty years the oil was all but forgotten…literally…I know it’s pretty unbelievable to hear that…but its a fact..

But fortunately enough…Melaleuca alternifolia oil has over 100 components working in a synergized fashion…most of which could not even be identified back in the early years…so an exact nature-identical copy was impossible to synthesize from man-made chemicals….Now you understand…As far as the 60s era was concerned…the oil made a remarkable comeback… the first scientific evidence in decades confirmed that it had a favourable effect in the treatment of boils…gynaecological infections and later for varied foot problems and nail bed infections….And now…..the once sidelined oil was ( actually ‘is’) gaining truck loads of  popularity…and farms were being set up to harvest the oil on a commercial basis…

And ladies and gentleman! Hang on… it doesn’t stop there…not just can this amazing oil be used in first aid applications and toiletries…it is a powerful solvent too (which is why it helps to clear trapped bacteria in boils) and can be utilized all around the home….So if you have any old tea tree oil in the cupboard it can be safely used for household cleaning applications…understand? It is particularly good for getting the glue off plates…jars and bottles often left behind by price stickers and labels…..It can be an effective cleaner…removing paint and pen marks easily from surfaces…( wow! Didn’t have even a single clue that it is so prolific! ) when mixed with a small amount of ordinary household cleaner or laundry product and rubbed over the area…It is a good stain remover for clothes and everyday washable items….But it must not be used full-strength on plastics and cheaper man-made fabrics…because they can become damaged by the strong solvent action…It can clean silver…It helps to deodorize rooms and cupboards….Mixed with a few drops of a culinary oil it can be sprinkled onto a duster and used to polish wooden furniture…both inside the house and in the garden…

And today the stand of tea tree oil is above all…without a doubt…

Meet Tea Tree Oil

Before getting down to the nitty-gritty of Tea tree oil..Let me introduce this liquid to you…Its about moments when distressed and disappointed from everything else with little or no results…when it comes to personal care…we find refuge in ancient recipes..about which we had though heard a million times but ignored..considering them trivial..insignificant and fanatic..but when we do resort to those and start getting astonishing results…is the time we start to believe…..believe in the might..and bounty of nature…

Say hello to one such nature’s bounty…Tea tree oil..

Every great discovery has this little descriptive history behind it…no surprises…tea tree oil too has one..

The ones hailing from Bundjalung…eastern Australia utilized the tea tree by inhaling them…for them it was their traditional medicine…obtained from the crushed leaves treating coughs and colds….They also applied it’s leaves on wounds…after which a poultice is applied….In addition…The infusion of the leaves with certain liquids made the it even more powerful and it’s effects vigorous… as far as applying on the wounds was concerned..

Use of the oil of Tea tree wasn’t common at all until this researcher named Arthur Penfold published the first reports of its antimicrobial activity in a number of newspapers in the 1920s and 1930s….In going through the antimicrobial activity of M. Alternifolia tea tree oil was rated as 10 times more active than phenol…

And as far as the commercial tea tree oil industry is concerned…it happened after the medicinal properties of the oil were first reported by Penfold in the 1920s…It was produced from natural bush stands of M. alternifolia that produced oil with the appropriate chemo type…the plant material was cut by hand and often distilled on the spot in makeshift…mobile…wood-fired bush stills…

Hmm…Tea tree oil or melaleuca oil…is a pale yellow colour to nearly colorless and clear essential oil with a fresh camphor like odor…It is extracted from the leaves of the Melaleuca alternifolia….which belongs to the northeast coast of New South Wales… Australia…Tea tree oil is often confused with tea oil….the sweet cooking oil from obtained from seeds of the tea plant…

You know how it got its name?

Actually…back then…the leaves of tea tree were used as a substitute for tea….and so it came to be known as teea tree oil…

Just a few of the many conditions it treats…

  • Vaginitis
  • Thrush
  • Periodontal disease
  • As an antiseptic
  • Acne
  • Athlete’s foot
  • Dandruff
  • Eczema
  • Psoriasis
  • Yeast infection
  • Boils
  • Lice

More recently, the scientific community has confirmed that Tea Tree Oil has tremendous medicinal benefits. It is a light yellow oil that has a scent similar to nutmeg, and it is produced by steaming tea tree leaves and then squeezing the oil out.

Tea Tree Oil has wonderful properties that makes it a popular natural agent for curing all three types of infectious organisms: fungus, bacteria, and virus. More importantly, it is known to effectively fight a number of infections that are resistant to some antibiotics. Therefore, Tea Tree Oil is an excellent natural remedy for hundreds of bacterial and fungal skin ailments such as –

  • Acne
  • Abscess
  • Oily skin
  • Blisters
  • Sun burns
  • Athlete’s foot
  • Warts
  • Herpes
  • Insect bites
  • Rashes

The anti-viral properties of the oil fight many common infectious diseases such as chicken pox, shingles and measles, flu, cold sores and verrucae. It also strengthens the body’s immune system, which is often weakened by stress, illness, or by the use of antibiotics and other drugs. It can also be used as a mouth wash, since it is highly effective in healing oral candidiasis (a fungal infection of mouth and throat).

Tea Tree Oil, when used as a mouth wash, acts as a natural cure for bad breath, oral candidiasis, gingivitis, plaque, and inflamed gums. It also kills mouth bacteria prior to dental surgery and also reduces mouth irritation that is often caused by dental procedures.

Add 3 drops of Tea Tree Oil to a cup of warm water.

Use the solution as a mouthwash two to three times daily.

Always spit out the Tea Tree Oil mouthwash. Do not swallow it.

You may also add 1 drop of Tea Tree Oil to toothpaste when brushing teeth.

One secret that I didn’t know was…That Tea Tree was magic liquid that eventually let me have those…My mom told me when I grew up….

But frankly…The secret to having long relaxed hair is knowledge…It’s all about knowing how to care for your straight or curly  hair for yourself and understanding your strands… Straight  hair is processed with chemicals to make it straight or to smooth out the kinks in natural hair…once this is done a relaxed head will require a different level of care than natural hair…it cannot be business as usual for your new hair…

And well..I know I was not the only one…Every woman today desires to have beautiful long hair and no one wants the greying to appear on her beautiful hair…But this requires especial hair care…I’ll teach you how…under the aegis of Tea tree oil…

Breathe easy With Tea Tree Oil…Treating Asthma

Once there was this female in my grade…who didn’t know that she had asthma…and in a race..she enthusiastically participated…but at the end of it…she was terribly out of breath…she was baffled…she had ran so many other times but the ‘out-of-breath’ scenario wasn’t this terrible ever…so she was rushed in the ambulance to a nearby medical centre…doctor instantly diagnosed asthma…she was shocked…

But..with proper care and attention…she controlled it to quite an extent…

One of the reasons that she disclosed was…tea Tree Oil…She being a crusader of nature’s natural healers…

Here’s how…why…telling you…

Usually…This first inventor also comes from a family known for a long history of respiratory problems….Therefore….the inventors decided to look beyond conventional “modern medicine” to help the first inventor…and as a result…have conceived methods to substantially prevent colds…flu….and infections of the human respiratory system….

These methods include the inhalation of the vapours of tea tree oil that are theorized to form a protective…and infection-preventing…thin layer within the entire respiratory system…including

  • the lungs
  •  bronchial tubes
  •  the nasal cavities

okay…I’ll speak in pure professional language…stay glued and attentive…This thin layer maintains its anti-pathogenic properties for a period of time following the inhalation of the vapours for at least one-half hour…and perhaps longer….This thin anti-pathogenic layer substantially prevents the initial infection of colds…flu…and other pathogens for a period of time following inhalation…

The inventors also propose the prophylactic use of inhaled eucalyptus oil and/or tea tree oil to prevent additional tuberculosis…which is becoming a major health problem in the United States…The inventors further propose the prophylactic use of inhaled tea tree oil to prevent opportunistic infections of the human respiratory system of individuals having cystic fibrosis….

Now another known fact…While certain medical uses for tea tree oil have been previously disclosed….to the inventor’s best knowledge…none of those previously disclosed methods have suggested…or proposed… that the periodic inhalation of vapours from tea tree oil may be used as prophylactic agents to substantially prevent infection of colds…flu…and other pathogens within the respiratory system of human beings for a duration of time following that inhalation….After the infection of human beings with certain pathogens…previous inhalation therapies have suggested using tea tree oil to aid in the recovery from certain respiratory diseases….Though…none of these previous methods have suggested using tea tree oil vapours as prophylactic agents to routinely and substantially prevent the initial infection of pathogens for a duration of time following their inhalation as a primary method of preventing disease…

Tea Tree Oil – Caressing the Skin

There were times in my life when I just wanted to put layers and layers of foundation and face powder to conceal…erm…no ‘conceal’ is rather sophisticated…I wanted to FAKE a flawless skin! Which I evidently didn’t possess…and then there were times I wanted to apply the juice of all possible edibles in my refrigerator (you see the height of desperation!)…hoping…wishing (whatever!) that the greens could fight the blues of my skin…and then the green indeed did the wonder…but ahem!! Not the veggies in the fridge…but the nature’s green Tea tree oil!

Now…I…being an ardent user of Tea tree essential oil…I’ll tell you why only Tea tree oil and nothing else…

Well…You know this Tea tree is this amazing dose of luxury for skin and can support its health in so many other ways….so any unpleasant encounters with skin and….thumbs up for Tea tree!

There’s fact you should be aware of…This Tea tree oil is not really obtained from the beverage tea plant…Nor it is a concoction from the green tea plantations….But these oils are distilled from the Malaleuca  plant widely grown in Australia…Now you know how it got the name ‘Tea-tree’..

Now what counts for Tea Tree to make it the best applicant for skin is its properties. it is

  • Antiseptic
  • Antibiotic

And not to our surprise these qualities of tea tree oils were always known and traditionally used by the locals for the treatment of skin infections and ugly eruptions on skin….and that how it invaded into the skincare market of today…and today it is hence a part of products like

  • cleansers
  • after shave lotions
  • scrubs
  • foams
  • moisturizers
  • anti- acne
  • blackhead removal products
  • foot creams
  • shampoos

A substance that will kill bacteria…micro-organisms and pests….That bacteria might be thriving on a pimple…or maybe any infectious skin eruption…or as fungus on toe nail or maybe as certain vaginal yeasts….Tea tree will bail you from the traps of these pests from anywhere and everywhere…

It happens to be that magic pen which when comes in contact with our skin…is bound to deliver magical and unbelievable results…usually by sucking out the impurities in the skin…leaving it scraped of extraneous substances..

Tea tree’s ability to ruin the being of apparently the most difficult…sticky and easily propagated bacteria and micro-organisms (even the ones left untreated by antibiotics)

As a matter of fact….acne…blackheads and dark spot are also actually a result of accumulation of dirt…sebum and thriving microorganisms…and bingo! Tea tree alone is an anti-squad for these…

And…it’s use…proliferating by every day…let’s do a quick recap…why..

1) It need not be consumed as antibiotic medicine which in turn has an  adverse effect on the liver
2) Most effective as a cure to numerous skin ailments
3) It is natural
4) It is useful as a preventive medicine to help stop the spread of germs and infections even before they start to harm the skin
5) Because nothing else can match its usefulness in its areas of activity

Hmm…know enough now..have a look behind the curtains..

Tea Tree Cares for Your Pet More Than You

So…you always thought you could care for your pet in the best possible fashion?

Yeah yeah…I agree…you get it vaccinated…You bathe that little fluffy creature…you pull out those ugly ticks with your own hands…You cuddle him…caress him…But did you ever think of defending the poor creature in anticipation from all the ills?

Probably…some of you might have…but for othersit’s time you went natural and safe and regular with Tea Tree Oil…

I’ll tell you why…

  • Tea tree oil (also called Melaleuca alternifolia) is a natural antiseptic for your pets…. The oil immediately penetrates outer skin layers and mixes with body oils to treat such conditions as insect bites…cuts…wounds…etc ( even for you! )

  • Tea tree oil has pain-numbing properties and can be used topically for ear infections…or any other outward infection of your pets..

  • Tea tree oil is an excellent antifungal and can be employed for pet medication of yeast and even ringworm…To fight plaque at your dogs teeth…brush with toothpaste containing tea tree oil…

Funnily enough our pets also suffer many of the same disorders as we humans do…tea tree oil can be used for pet medication of arthritis, bad breath, ringworm, or ear infections.like I just mentioned…
And for external application…mix 1 teaspoon tea tree oil with 1 cup of water…
And remember …hen using tea tree oil for pet medication…always dilute it as full strength can cause irritations…because it always recommended that..no other reason…

Try to apply it only on areas where your dog cannot lick it off…so that it does not intake the oil!

Tea tree oil has phenomenal properties…they are that Tea tree oil is

  • anti-fungal
  • anti-inflammatory
  • antiseptic properties

And these qualities of it work for both us and our pets….Again..I remind…just stick to its ‘external’ application…

As a pet medication….the solution should consist of 1 tsp. of tea tree oil mixed with 1 cup of water….It is better to err on the side of caution and a less strong solution could be administered….As stated…tea tree oil has excellent anti-fungal properties…Like I just mentioned in the previous paragraph…

If your pet has ringworm…you may want to consider using a low-concentration tea tree gel or otherwise diluting the tea tree solution in bath water…If your dog suffers from heavy plaque on their teeth…then a low-concentration tea tree oil toothpaste may be your answer….

Similarly……..For ear infections…using a tea tree oil product is preferable to using the water-based solution as the ear is a highly sensitive area….Tea tree oil also functions as a natural antiseptic and is great for treating your large pet’s cuts…burns…bites and bruises… (Mentioned earlier)
