Itch Itch! Scratch Scratch! Bye Bye! – Tea Tree Oil

As a small kid I remember…I used to have hip-long air…my father was pretty fond of it so made let me have them…but soon I was agitated with managing of them and developed an itchy scalp…I wondered what was wrong with me…I used to scratch my scalp day and night…then one day my mother caught hold of me…and used this really narrow comb I had never seen before…to comb my hair…and to my absolute shock…i saw these tiny little insects trapped in the teeth of the comb…coming out of my hair…my mother called them ‘lice’…And she explained to me that how those parasites lived on by sucking my scalp’s blood…I started to detest the mites so badly that I asked mom to treat from thoroughly…and that’s when she used Tea tree oil in my hair for the first time…and no exaggerating…I was SO relieved…felt so light in the head…

So now you know what an old recipe it is to cure lice…had it not been my mom…I would’ve never known the cure to the pesky little creatures…

You might not be knowing this but once a child gets head lice…the mature or adult head lice can lay up to 10 eggs or nits each day…These nits…or lice eggs…hatch in about 7 to 12 days…Baby lice or term them nymphs…are about the size of a pinhead when they hatch…and quickly mature into adult lice in about a 9 to 12 days by sucking our blood (vampires!)

In just a few days… adult lice are ready to mate (imagine even creatures this small mate!)…starting their life cycle all over again during their 3 to 4 week lifespan…

And the rescuer is Tea tree oil…you know a kind of oil…that would keep the lice at bay if you do not have them and will ruin their being if you do have them

Even if you go out in the market today…you’ll find that most of the anti-lice products bear the name ‘Tea tree’ on them…and well then it shouldn’t surprise you

Wondering what makes this oil so distinct and useful?

Well…Tea tree oil is an extremely powerful antiseptic that is very effective in fighting lice and actually many other problems…

It’s distinguishing properties being that it is-

  • Bactericide
  •  Fungicide
  • Antiseptic
  •  Disinfectant
  • Antiviral

Not only this…If we go I detail then…It can be used to fight…

  1. Mites
  2. an infection
  3. against parasites

It even promotes the facilitation of…

  1. Healing
  2. Perspiration (makes us sweat)
  3. Supports the immune system.

Try diluting this amazing liquid with other liquids…and see the wonders it does for your hair and hair problems…but my personal recommendation for it…because I have been through it and Tea tree sincerely helped…It still continues to…Just maybe…you weren’t aware of the fact…

Vapourize Those Boils With Tea tree oil

As if those ugly and pesky pimples were enough that another of its kind popped up (literally)…a boil…often people confuse boils with pimples…but let me make it clear in the very beginning…boils are a lot more grave than pimples…Okay on a serious note..what I mean is that boils are bigger and more painful than pimples..they are…in a way…the nurtured versions of pimples…bigger…uglier…more painful..thanks to the pus and that ‘eew!’ liquid filled in them…

Okay..getting down to the nitty-gritty…Boils are caused by a staph infection…The infection can occur almost anywhere on the body…and should be examined carefully…especially since the advent of penicillin resistant strains are becoming more common…you ought to keep an eye…

Hmm…Boils can be extremely painful (I mean EXTREMELY!)…Although they just seem like harmless pimples (Okay they are harmless but ugly looking)…they are filled with yellow-yellow liquid called ‘pus’ and apparently are unbearably painful when they pop-up on places like our ears…nose…fingers or even scalp…

Worse yet, a staph infection lies dead for lifetimes ( Again…not literally…was just exaggerating )…because it is shrewd enough to wait for us to fall sick and then attack…(remember hit when the iron is hot)…

Hmm…Now understand what Tea tree does to those ugly little things…

Apply tea tree oil on that boil…You know at the first signs they can be stopped (yes I mean it)..mainly when they are tiny…simply with an  hourly application of tea tree oil…

Keeping the infected area open…or rather exposed to air can be a lot more beneficial…then try following the activity by wrapping it with a gauze bandage…it’ll help..

Nothing acts better than Tea tree during the problem of a boil…it has this

  • Anti-fungal
  • Anti-septic

Quality that does wonders for the skin that is infected…

No matter what the reason of the occurrence of the boil..

  • an infection
  • hiking
  • working hard
  •  just repeated friction to some part of your skin

Tea tree just does wonders for the skin…by relieving the one applying from inflammation…burning…pain…sores…redness…blisters…Phew!

Tea tree oil will soothe and help speed the diminishing of the boil….while reducing the chance of infection due to its ability to stifle the growth of bacteria…fungus…and viruses…

If you apply tea tree oil to boils…you will most likely find that they will heal faster…with little or no itching and burning…and that is the absolute magic of Tea tree oil…

Tea tree…hence proved…is best to treat those ugly…bubbly…pus-filled boils…

In today’s world of storm and stress…the medical complications seems to be proliferating by the day..and that too ones which were never paid attention to…they resurrected to be greater and more stressing…one of those being Thrush…frankly I never knew it was called so…I mean I did have idea about something like this but didn’t know that it was called ‘Thrush’…I take this to my responsibility to make you all aware of it..

Okay…Oral thrush…also known as oral candidiasis is an infection of the genus Candida that develops on the mucous membranes of the mouth… yeast fungi… It is basically caused by this thing called Candida albicans..

It’s kind of disgusting and yucky…as it causes thick white or cream-colored deposits…most commonly on the tongue or maybe the inner cheeks….The sores are painful and may even bleed slightly when they are scraped or rubbed…The infected area may appear inflamed and red…

Most horrible thing about this is that it may even spread to the back of the throat or the upper portion of the mouth…

I know its surprising to know this but this fungus exists in almost all parts of out body…including the digestive system… skin and mouth…and as a matter of fact the healthy beings do not face any ailments…However…people on certain medications…reduced immune systems and certain problems are vulnerable to oral thrush which can and may get out of control…

Most vulnerable are the following ones..

  • Ones excessively using mouthwash
  • Ones on Steroid medication
  • Ones who wear dentures
  • Ones taking Antibiotics
  • Ones with a weak immune system
  • Ones with Diabetes
  • Ones having other therapies

Hmm…So now you know this Thrush can be pretty irritating and rather disgusting…So…let me introduce you to its biggest enemy…Tea tree oil…

This is one of the most effective natural remedies for in adults’ oral diseases…like one of them being Thrush..

Just to kill your apprehension about Tea tree’s oral use…try looking at the oral care section in the health food store and it would be evident that toothpastes…mouth rinses…and even toothpicks are made with tea tree oil specifically formulated for use in the mouth…

One major reason being..its anti-fungal quality…which acts best against such fungal infections…when used under proper supervision…Tea tree oil can scrape the whiteness from the mouth..you know I mean your coated tongue…

Tea tree acts as this liquids that when passes over the affected region…goes on eradicating the whatever unwanted microbes comes its way…rendering a cleaner and healthier mouth…its best use would be as a mouthwash when suffering from thrush…

A special advise for mothers who breastfeed – Try Using a couple of drops of pure tea tree oil mixed with coconut oil or olive oil and apply to the nipples after each feeding…Gently rinse nipples in warm water and pat dry before feeding when using tea tree oil applications…It makes the nipples devoid of dirt and infections…though it does have a very strong smell and taste..

Tea Tree – Extending A Helping Hand

Not for just one…two..rather…not just for any countable number of troubles but for almost anything and everything…Tea tree extends a helping hand for almost every human trouble…relating to the complex human body and its functioning…

You know this Tea tree grew in the islands of the south Pacific and Australia…Reason it bears the name ‘Tea tree’ is that…it’s bark….leaves……or twigs were initially used by settlers and travellers as a tea substitute…You know for making tea and all….

And a surprising fact is that the Australian tea trees…are not trees at all!

Rather they are green shrubs that grow in the wet-wet coastal regions of Australia….you now they are like these amazingly quickly growing plants and easily acquire a minimum height of 7 to 8 feet when mature….Australian tea trees have soft (wow! That’s unusual)…thick…white bark (I just fancied white barks as a kid) …and white flowers that bloom in the summer…pretty they are..

That was about the tree…The light yellow tea tree oil is obtained by steaming the tea tree leaves to bring out the oil which is used mainly in medicine…and yes…also for industrial lubricants and cosmetic products…The smell being somewhat like nutmeg…

It’s flushed with these medicinal properties because of this unusual chemical called terpenoid…. which when making up for at least 30 and preferably 40-50 of the oil…is when it can be considered medically useful….Tea tree oil contains yet another compound…cineole….which ideally should make up less than 15 and preferably 2.5 of the oil….

hmm…now let me disclose which I know you’ve been waiting to hear…Yes! Tea tree oil kills fungus and bacteria…even the ones resistant to certain antibiotics… Elaborative uses being…Tea tree oil is used outwardly as -

Some of its basic uses:

  • Treating athlete’s foot
  • For acne
  • Treating fungal infections of fingernails or toenails
  • For oral candidiasis (Though do spit it out)

So now that you already know Tea tree’s miracles..check out our references..

Tea Tree- Lets Fights Acne! One-On-One!

The title of this article is what Tea tree has to say to acne….over hundreds of years now people have found themselves trapped in the ugly and intimidating world of acne….the ones resourceful…fought back…but the ones deprived…had to face the repercussions…and even today the battle continues…low self-esteem (especially amongst youngsters)…incapacitating condition…sleepless nights…strained relationships…have all been ‘some’ of the many of its grave effects..

Finally rose something from the untouched vegetation…nature’s pride…Tea tree oil (erm..I know that was a little mellow-dramatic)…anyway…now for your answer…why Tea tree oil for acne?

But before that…understand this Tea tree oil…

This oil is an essential oil obtained by pressing the leaves of the Tea tree…It in a way…some say…smells like camphor and is kind of transparent (Okay translucent! )  Natives of  Australia…the tree’s native location too…had long back brought the oil in their use…You know like even much before it developed a commercial market for itself…It vigorously fights-

  1. Virus
  2. Infections
  3. Bacteria

Now…for the question…How Tea Tree Oil fight acne?

What makes it take the highest position as far as best fighters of acne are concerned…is its antimicrobial property….and eventually the ability to kill the bacteria on skin that contribute to acne

This acne occurs when a pore becomes clogged with dead skin cells or oil produced by the skin…which in layman’s language we term as dirt…impurities..So…Once this occurs…bacteria get trapped inside the clogged pore… this in turn causes swelling and sores…especially when white blood cells attack the bacteria trapped in the pore… By fighting these…Tea tree eliminates the chances of the reoccurrence of the bacteria

Tea tree oil tones the skin even…It dries up the oil that’s there on the surface of the skin…hence ending the chance of the development and blocking the nourishment of the bacteria…

Tea tree oil has these great advantages over all other things…

1) Tea tree oil does not dry out your skin.
2) Tea tree oil gets the red out.
3) Tea tree oil fights the bacteria that cause pimples with ugly yellow centers…you will look better faster with tea tree oil

Okay so you know enough as to why to use Tea tree in place of anything else to cure acne…So..now have a look at our references..

Tea Tree Oil – Caressing the Skin

There were times in my life when I just wanted to put layers and layers of foundation and face powder to conceal…erm…no ‘conceal’ is rather sophisticated…I wanted to FAKE a flawless skin! Which I evidently didn’t possess…and then there were times I wanted to apply the juice of all possible edibles in my refrigerator (you see the height of desperation!)…hoping…wishing (whatever!) that the greens could fight the blues of my skin…and then the green indeed did the wonder…but ahem!! Not the veggies in the fridge…but the nature’s green Tea tree oil!

Now…I…being an ardent user of Tea tree essential oil…I’ll tell you why only Tea tree oil and nothing else…

Well…You know this Tea tree is this amazing dose of luxury for skin and can support its health in so many other ways….so any unpleasant encounters with skin and….thumbs up for Tea tree!

There’s fact you should be aware of…This Tea tree oil is not really obtained from the beverage tea plant…Nor it is a concoction from the green tea plantations….But these oils are distilled from the Malaleuca  plant widely grown in Australia…Now you know how it got the name ‘Tea-tree’..

Now what counts for Tea Tree to make it the best applicant for skin is its properties. it is

  • Antiseptic
  • Antibiotic

And not to our surprise these qualities of tea tree oils were always known and traditionally used by the locals for the treatment of skin infections and ugly eruptions on skin….and that how it invaded into the skincare market of today…and today it is hence a part of products like

  • cleansers
  • after shave lotions
  • scrubs
  • foams
  • moisturizers
  • anti- acne
  • blackhead removal products
  • foot creams
  • shampoos

A substance that will kill bacteria…micro-organisms and pests….That bacteria might be thriving on a pimple…or maybe any infectious skin eruption…or as fungus on toe nail or maybe as certain vaginal yeasts….Tea tree will bail you from the traps of these pests from anywhere and everywhere…

It happens to be that magic pen which when comes in contact with our skin…is bound to deliver magical and unbelievable results…usually by sucking out the impurities in the skin…leaving it scraped of extraneous substances..

Tea tree’s ability to ruin the being of apparently the most difficult…sticky and easily propagated bacteria and micro-organisms (even the ones left untreated by antibiotics)

As a matter of fact….acne…blackheads and dark spot are also actually a result of accumulation of dirt…sebum and thriving microorganisms…and bingo! Tea tree alone is an anti-squad for these…

And…it’s use…proliferating by every day…let’s do a quick recap…why..

1) It need not be consumed as antibiotic medicine which in turn has an  adverse effect on the liver
2) Most effective as a cure to numerous skin ailments
3) It is natural
4) It is useful as a preventive medicine to help stop the spread of germs and infections even before they start to harm the skin
5) Because nothing else can match its usefulness in its areas of activity

Hmm…know enough now..have a look behind the curtains..

Tea Tree Cares for Your Pet More Than You

So…you always thought you could care for your pet in the best possible fashion?

Yeah yeah…I agree…you get it vaccinated…You bathe that little fluffy creature…you pull out those ugly ticks with your own hands…You cuddle him…caress him…But did you ever think of defending the poor creature in anticipation from all the ills?

Probably…some of you might have…but for othersit’s time you went natural and safe and regular with Tea Tree Oil…

I’ll tell you why…

  • Tea tree oil (also called Melaleuca alternifolia) is a natural antiseptic for your pets…. The oil immediately penetrates outer skin layers and mixes with body oils to treat such conditions as insect bites…cuts…wounds…etc ( even for you! )

  • Tea tree oil has pain-numbing properties and can be used topically for ear infections…or any other outward infection of your pets..

  • Tea tree oil is an excellent antifungal and can be employed for pet medication of yeast and even ringworm…To fight plaque at your dogs teeth…brush with toothpaste containing tea tree oil…

Funnily enough our pets also suffer many of the same disorders as we humans do…tea tree oil can be used for pet medication of arthritis, bad breath, ringworm, or ear infections.like I just mentioned…
And for external application…mix 1 teaspoon tea tree oil with 1 cup of water…
And remember …hen using tea tree oil for pet medication…always dilute it as full strength can cause irritations…because it always recommended that..no other reason…

Try to apply it only on areas where your dog cannot lick it off…so that it does not intake the oil!

Tea tree oil has phenomenal properties…they are that Tea tree oil is

  • anti-fungal
  • anti-inflammatory
  • antiseptic properties

And these qualities of it work for both us and our pets….Again..I remind…just stick to its ‘external’ application…

As a pet medication….the solution should consist of 1 tsp. of tea tree oil mixed with 1 cup of water….It is better to err on the side of caution and a less strong solution could be administered….As stated…tea tree oil has excellent anti-fungal properties…Like I just mentioned in the previous paragraph…

If your pet has ringworm…you may want to consider using a low-concentration tea tree gel or otherwise diluting the tea tree solution in bath water…If your dog suffers from heavy plaque on their teeth…then a low-concentration tea tree oil toothpaste may be your answer….

Similarly……..For ear infections…using a tea tree oil product is preferable to using the water-based solution as the ear is a highly sensitive area….Tea tree oil also functions as a natural antiseptic and is great for treating your large pet’s cuts…burns…bites and bruises… (Mentioned earlier)
